By popular demand...

Although we didn't take any new pictures of Grant last night, I found this cute stash from last month for your enjoyment!  They were taken on February 26th.

It's a morning with Grant!

All snuggled up in his swaddle.  You can see the pacifier mark still on his cute little chin.

*Yawn*

Released!  Finally!  Streeeetch!

After being tied up all night, Grant likes to kick kick kick!

Look!  Those are my feet!

Kick kick kick...

I'm really good at kicking and looking cute!

What did you say, Mom?

But I don't want to change my diaper!

New toys for Grant!

Well, we did it.  We broke down and bought a giant, ugly, plastic, baby-swallowing contraption.  And guess who loves it already.  He's not really big enough for it yet, so we have to put a folded towel under his feet.  Otherwise, he's ready to play!

Pretty lights and music!

Ah!  There's a baby in that mirror!

Did you see him too, Mommy?

Hey, Daddy!

Are you making my monkey sing?

I really like my monkey.

Hi, monkey!

Real quick...

I'm at work, so can't update much at the moment, but we did another photo shoot with Stephanie at our house yesterday, and here's a sneak peak of one of the poses we got!  Grant is so photogenic when he cooperates!

More to come when Stephanie gets them edited!  Doesn't she take great pics?

Exciting Saturday nights

Grant likes his feet, when you show them to him.  Usually that's during a diaper change or when he's lying on his back and we're playing with him.  He still doesn't understand that they are attached to him, but he may be getting a clue!

Here he is in his bumbo seat on the bar.  He likes to sit up high and be on our level.

Say, who's messing with my feet?

Daddy's going to get me!

Don't stop now, that was fun!

Off come the mittens and the fingers go directly into the mouth!

Watcha doing down there, Mom?

Oh, wait, what is this?

Is this MY foot?  Did I just make those toes wiggle?

Hey, that's pretty cool!

Don't ya think?

New sleeping arrangements

Let me start off by reporting that Grant is just so happy lately.  He smiles at EVERYTHING.  He's even begun laughing.  We think he did it a teensy bit for the first time last weekend, but today he's definitely giggling.  What did we do to make him laugh?  Well, apparently, telling him about his poopy diapers is hilarious!  Who knew?

And as of last night, he has a new bed.  Up to this point, Grant has slept pretty snuggly in a bassinet on wheels, making it easy to roll up to the side of the bed, where I could keep one eye open and on him all night.  Since he started sleeping through the night (yes, THROUGH the night!) at 6 weeks, the bassinet right next to me has been less necessary.  The only time he doesn't sleep through the night is when he's really sick and coughing a lot.  And let's face it, he's been doing that a lot lately.  Surprisingly though, his illnesses haven't affected his sleep too much.

Almost 2 weeks ago, we broke out the baby monitor and attempted to put him in his crib in his room across the house.  This was the night that he started getting sick this last time, so he was up a lot that night, meaning I was up a lot that night.  We didn't even make it through the night before he was back in the bassinet next to the bed.  I'm ready to try the crib again, but it just isn't good to start that until he's 100% better from his latest cold/allergies/asthma/death march.  At any rate, he's officially outgrown the bassinet.   His little chubby legs kick the end of it when he's sleeping in it.  So, we finally moved him up to the pack and play.  It is parked at the foot of our bed and is much roomier.  This is just a teensy bit closer to having him in his own room.  Ok, so it's not that much closer.  But, hey, baby steps and all that.  At least it is forcing me to get out of bed to tend to him if needed.

So tonight, I snapped some pics after putting him to bed because I couldn't resist.  He's so sweet when he's sleeping.  I just want to pinch his cheeks!

Enjoy!

We're a little late on this one!

We have been taking "diaper pics" on the day of every month anniversary from Grant's birth, but I've not been too diligent about posting it.  So, here is March, as well as January and February for comparison.  I'll be sure to post April's in a more timely fashion.  He's growing!

And we're down again...

The breathing treatments seemed to put Grant in much higher spirits on Saturday and Sunday.  He would not stop smiling the whole weekend.  It was like a night and day difference.   Dr Katz said to bring him back on Monday if he wasn't significantly better, but he seemed to be slightly better, so we decided to wait one more day.  Well, I was super sick Monday afternoon (with Grant's cold, of course) and stayed home from work today.  We also decided that Grant sounded worse with his coughing and were afraid the breathing treatments weren't working, so we trekked back up to Dr Katz's for another visit.

We are glad we went!  Grant has the beginning of an ear infection that wouldn't have been caught this early had we not taken him in.  Dr Katz thinks his lungs actually sounded better, which I was seriously shocked to hear.  He ended up giving us an antibiotic for the ear infection, and sent us home with instructions to continue the breathing treatments and steroid from Saturday.

Tonight, we administered the first dose of antibiotic and Grant projectile vomited the medicine up, with about 4oz of milk almost immediately.  This is the first he's vomited for this go-round of the cold, so who can say what this means.  We are currently letting him rest and will try again with the antibiotic shortly.

Now, on to what you really want to see - pics of Grant!  This weekend, we broke out the new jogging stroller.  Grant loved it.  Mommy and Daddy loved it.  Even the puppies loved it, because for them, it means more walks!

Feeling better with breathing treatments!

Equals a happier baby!

Grant says, breathing treatments do not make me drool any less!

Headed back to the doctor

This will be about the 6th time Grant has been taken to the doctor in almost as many weeks.  He kept us up all night long coughing, and we are just at wit's end with the lack of sleep this week from it.  We are going to throw ourselves on their mercy and beg for cough medicine.  Hopefully they don't just send us away again telling us that it's just a cold that has to run its course.  If they say that?  We're finding another pediatrician.  There is no good reason why a baby this small needs to be sick for 90% of the last 8 weeks.  :(

Even bad iPhone pics show his cuteness

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Grant has been officially clothed in green for today so he is sure to not get pinched!  Well, maybe on his cheeks just a little.  Who can resist?

After getting dressed this morning, he had some tickle time with Daddy.  We managed to capture a few really cute smiles with Rob's iPhone.  Forgive the quality.  But at least it's something!
