Grant already has two bottom teeth. This past week (around July 18th) he was really fussy and cranky. I knew something was up, and figured it was teeth. I didn't expect him to get TWO at once! Honestly, Rob and I are glad, because he was inconsolable for about 3 days until they popped through. I'd rather have him get two at once, than go through that process twice!
See his chompers?
We were using the finger brush on his bottom teeth daily, and he really likes it. He also likes the taste of the baby toothpaste we use. Last night I picked up a real toothbrush for him. He loved it! This morning was our first attempt at brushing his teeth. It's a little hard to get around his tongue, but otherwise, we were successful.
Rob likes to sleep with the covers over his head, and I can't name the number of times I've come into Grant's room and caught him sleeping with his head under the blankets. Makes me nervous! Normally he only has one blanket to sleep with, but I left the blue one folded over the top of his bed and he pulled it down, little stinker.
Grant hates being on his tummy, and unfortunately for him, it needs to happen if he's ever going to crawl. I've told him all about how his classmates are all crawling now and that he needs to catch up, but he just looks at me like I'm crazy and asks for another bag of potato chips and the Wii remote.
But, we're working on it. A lot. And there are tears (not necessarily all Grant's!) and there are fits (also, maybe this applies to more than just Grant), but we are doing it.
I'm so over it, Mom.
And sometimes, Dad likes to pile on. But it's getting better. Each day he tolerates it a little more. That's progress, right?
Growing up, I always wished I could play the piano. The opportunity wasn't there for me to take lessons, and I'm afraid it's far too late for me to start learning. I've always gravitated toward music that is predominantly piano (Ben Folds who?), and I guess I'm hoping to share that love with Grant. We definitely want him to be able to play an instrument or two eventually, and we've got to start somewhere!
One of Grant's teachers at daycare said that he loves this toy piano, so I had to get one for him, of course. Here he is banging away on it. He loves it!
