More pics with Stephanie!

Grant had a pretty great weekend.  He was in a happy mood, got a visit from Mimi, got to spend a few hours alone with Grandpa and Nonna, and got new pics taken by Stephanie with Dahlias and Daisies Designs Photography!  If you're local, check her out!  She's so talented, and she's also a great friend of mine!

Stephanie has been the only photographer we've used since Grant was a tiny tot, and we're sticking with what works.  Her pictures always turn out amazing!  I can't wait to get the CD with all the images so I can print a few out and frame them.

Jumparoo

Grant is almost always in this jumper when I pick him up.  It has a good angle on the door, and as soon as I walk in, he goes crazy in it, jumping up and down and grunting and shaking like he's having a seizure.  He gets so happy to see me, and it is really cute.  Makes up for all the times he pukes on me.

This morning when I dropped him off, I thought I'd try to capture some of his enjoyment, but he wasn't very cooperative.

Isn't this the part where you leave me?

Oh, you're not leaving yet?  Ok, I guess I'll jump some.  But I'm easily distracte...

Ooh, what's this?

And here's where he forgets I'm even here.  ::sigh::

Ready to go?

I set Grant on the island this morning to try and get a picture of him before we headed out the door.

My munchkin!

Grant is sad.

He gets upset when there aren't any comments on his blog.

JUST KIDDING.

He cries when we're out of vodka.

Good morning!

Grant was so happy this morning, mostly because I put on Yo Gabba Gabba while getting him dressed.  Something about that DJ Lance Rock and his orange hat that makes this kid so happy.

Also, here's a shot of his chubby thigh.  He no longer has this thigh because as soon as I took this picture, I dipped it in honey mustard and ate it whole.

Sleepy Head!

Grant has a new convertible car seat, just like a big boy.  We went with the Britax Boulevard 70.  I think that the "70" has something to do with pounds?  I don't know really.  I just know that I wanted to be able to adjust the straps without having to re-thread them, and I wanted black so that we could avoid the unavoidable messes that come with having (an eventual) toddler.  This seat will go either forward facing or rear facing, and so it looks like Grant has about 3.5 more months of staring at the back window before we'll turn this baby around.  Literally.

The seat is much nicer for Grant, because it's larger and offers more air flow than before, keeping him a little cooler than his infant carrier.  It also allows him to see more.  Sometimes, when we get to our destination and I go to lift him out, I see that he has grabbed something from the backseat that is now within reach, like my purse straps or other bags that are sitting nearby.

Right now, it seems that Grant likes to sleep in it more than anything.

Grant moves up to the big boy class today!

At his daycare, a shift has taken place.  All the kids are basically moving up a class, more or less.  This means, Grant is in the big boys' class!  I call it that because all his little friends (all boys, but one!) had slowly graduated to suite 150 out of the infant room over the past 6 months, but Grant stayed behind because he hadn't begun crawling yet.  Well, today, the shift took place anyway, because all the older kids started kindergarten and basically everyone was moving up one class. Some of the babies that were in his infant class with him originally, are still in suite 150, so he gets to see his friends again!  Hopefully, he'll get to spend some time with them before they graduate to suite 200.

We took some pictures this morning to commemorate the event!

Exersaucer time

Grant having fun in his exersaucer right before bedtime.

And since I promised his teacher Stephanie, that I wouldn't post her picture, I cropped this picture to show just Grant, because I love his smile here.

8 months old today!

Grant is growing more and more every day.  Sometimes I look at him and wonder how he got so big!

We went for an ear re-check last night at the after-hours clinic, and his ear infection is gone - yay!  When they weighed him, he was 20 lbs 11 ounces.  I think their scale is a bit different from his regular pediatrician, because he's already 21 pounds at that office.

Last night, Grant wore some of his new PJs for the first time.  These are 12-month size!  They are so snug on him, too.  What am I going to do with this kid??  The feet on all the PJs are too big for his 8-month feet, so everything with feet built-in looks like elf shoes.

When Grant finally decides to wake up today, I will take some 8-month photos.

More teeth - what??!?

We've not blogged very well this week!  I have a few pics, but not many smiles.  Grant has been Grumpy McFussypants for about 3 days straight.  We couldn't figure it out.  Surely it wouldn't be more teeth already.  WRONG!  He's got white buds of teeth now showing right next to the top ones that already came in!  Poor baby.  All these teeth wanting to make their debut at the same time.

He had an ear infection last week (still on antibiotics), and he has only gotten them when he's teething.  Again, that explains things.  Yesterday we went to a playdate with a few baby boys from his class.  I noticed that his nose ran the WHOLE time.  He never has a runny nose.  Anyway, all those things combined have really proven to be teething symptoms.  I stayed home with him today because I thought surely he was sick.  He's not a happy camper!  We'll be so much happier when these teeth finally pop through.

Orajel to the rescue!

Tomorrow, we have his video swallow test to see if he's aspirating milk or milk vapors when he eats his bottles.  Hopefully, he'll cooperate.  We'll update as soon as we know what's going on with him.
