Standing up like he owns the place

Yeah, in a few years, I'll be telling him to get his feet off the couch!

For now, cute baby!

A trip to the park...

Grant's been fussy all weekend, and didn't sleep well at all Saturday night.  I figured something was up, and sure enough, tooth #8 is popping through on the bottom.  He's going to have a mouthful of teeth!

Tonight, we walked to the park and let Grant swing a little.  He actually started crying when we had to take him out of the swing, he was loving it so much.

Where is my baby going?

Sometimes I look at Grant and still see the tiny little baby that I met almost a year ago.  He hasn't changed in my mind.  Then I dig out these pictures, and I think, WOW!  We have a little boy!  Soooo not a baby anymore.

This was Grant at 4 days old.

These were when he was 11 days old.

Almost 7 weeks...

3 months old...

7 months old...

Almost 10 months old here.

Can we just pause time for a bit?  I'd like my baby back, please.

Through the tunnel!

There is a cute and soft play area in Grant's classroom at school, where the smaller babies can crawl on and around.  In that soft play area, is a small tunnel.  Well, apparently, Grant discovered the tunnel yesterday, and his teacher Eva was able to snap a few pics for me.  Here's the tunnel from the online video monitoring system, for a little perspective.  I circled it on the screen.  (The room was empty when I took this screenshot.)

And here's Grant!

Look out - coming through!  It's the drool train!

I made it!

Because "pup-pups" make it all better.

Uh-oh.  I turned my toy basket upside down, and now I can't fix it.

What's that, Mommy?  You know something that will cheer me up?

You're right!  That's great!

It's so funny!

What's got my attention, you ask?

My pup-pup!

So much better!

Grant was sick all night, but woke up feeling much better.  I kept him home from school today because there needs to be a 24-hour buffer after a fever before taking him back to school.  I still had to work today, so Mimi came to help out!  She hung out with Grant while I worked.  Win-win!

Saying "Mama"

He is doing it!  Today, officially, Grant is saying Mama.  Maybe not in the right context, but he is saying it.  Please excuse the video quality, we were not in the best light.  Also, he only says "ma" in this video, which is not how he has been saying it.  It seems when I want him to say it, he does it differently on purpose.  My kid?  Stubborn?  Nah...  :)

In other news, Grant is sick again.   He woke up with a 100 degree fever, and although it went down after a dose of Advil, it shot up to 102.4 around 2:30 today.  I took him to the pediatrician at 3:30, and they did a strep test because his throat looked red, but it was negative and they sent us home with no meds.  He started throwing up around 5:00 tonight, so yeah.  Now there's that.

Hopefully he'll be feeling a lot better tomorrow, and this is just a 24-hour bug.  I'll update again tomorrow.

Baby butts... of the cutest things on the planet!

No pics today - what?

I guess you could say we're so busy not calming a crying baby, not losing sleep, not dealing with weekly pediatrician appointments for weekly ear infections, not going to CVS for another prescription, not administering antibiotics, that we've had no time for pictures!

Or something.

Grant is sleeping so well since his tube surgery.  So well, that I've been afraid to say anything because I'm sure making it public will jinx it, and tonight I'll be up 4 times, bringing him pacis and begging him to just enjoy what his parents would do crazy things for - delicious, uninterrupted sleep.

So, we'll cross our fingers and hope that this isn't a fluke, and our baby just needed tubes to sleep comfortably.  But so far, so good.  So good that I just had to let everyone know.

It's not too early for this, right?

Well, this was as good as it got for pics this morning, with Grant in his Halloween clothes!

Happy Columbus Day!

Grant is ready for school...

Are those the cutest socks you've ever seen or what?

Guess where we went today!

We tried really hard to get some good pictures of Grant and the pumpkins or Grant with us, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Eyes closed!

Not looking at the camera!

10 Months and COUNTING!

Grant turned 10 months old today.  WHAT??  Every month seems to fly by faster than the last.  It is sad and wonderful all rolled into one.  Here are a few things he's doing that are new!

  • Clapping!
  • Eating pancakes - he's done it twice now, but syrup's the key
  • FINALLY rolling from front to back as well as back to front
  • Scooching backward - we're working on forward
  • Sleeping through the night every night since getting his tubes - what what??!!
  • Babbling more - he's making T sounds and Ft sounds
  • He definitely says Dada a lot, but we're not sure if he's associating it with Rob just yet.  I try to reinforce as much as possible.

And tonight, I plan to try and get a few "diaper" shots, as has been the routine.  For now, enjoy a few blurry pics from this morning.

Close up

More pics to come!

Stephanie is having another mini session soon for the holidays, and Rob, Grant and I are going to have family pictures taken soon as well, so that means Grant needs a cute outfit!  Any excuse to shop for baby clothes, am I right, ladies?

We found these items yesterday (Rob picked them out!), and I cannot WAIT to see how they look on him!

Just looking at baby corduroy pants and sweaters makes me want to snuggle with Grant!

Pics from Grant's 9-month shoot!

My friend Stephanie over at Dahlias & Daisies Designs, sent me the CD with all Grant's images from his photo shoot, and we're just now getting around to posting a few more that were taken.

Here's a great close up!

Here's an excited face!

This one is his thinking face...
