For the first time in Ryan's life, he has a cold.  His first illness.  We were really hoping that he would make it to the 1-year mark before ever contracting anything, but alas, 6 days out, and he's officially got a runny nose and is coughing, poor guy.  Grant has it too, but is handling it far better.  Of course, he's an old pro.  Ryan's pretty new at this sick-thing.

Luckily, it doesn't seem to be affecting him negatively, and it's far enough in advance of his birthday that we're positive he'll be feeling right as rain in a few days and will be able to enjoy his big day.

Here are a few candids from the past couple of days.  The boys are really starting to bond.  Although Grant still loves to take toys away from Ryan, we're working on that.  :)

Grant and I painted Ninja Turtles today.  This is about as good as it gets when I ask him to smile for the camera these days.  And most of the time, it includes a threat.  Ha.

Ryan has discovered that he really loves his learning puppy.  He knows how to turn it on and off and will play with it for quite a bit of time at a stretch.

The bottom drawer of this nightstand holds all of Ryan's books.  Although it's hard to tell in this picture, Grant is "reading" a story to Ryan.

Here are the boys watching cartoons together.  Notice that Grant's shirt is on backwards! That's another thing we're working on.

It's coming...

In less than 2 weeks, we'll have a 3-year old *AND* a 1-year old!  ***Spoiler Alert*** Ryan got a new shirt for the upcoming day, and of course we had to try it on...

Look at this face. How can you not smile when you see this.

Ryan has the cutest giggle. And I'm thrilled to say he got it from me. Rob often calls it my woody-woodpecker giggle, but I don't care. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen.

We are in the throws of trying to plan some semblance of a birthday celebration for him. Can you believe he will be one year old in 3 weeks?  Our baby will officially be a toddler. We'll have TWO toddlers in the house at the same time. Ohmygod.

See You Later Alligator

These PJs were certainly appropriate for Grant to wear on the day I had to leave for India again.

I'll be here for a week, and boy do I miss all my boys.
